The Korean artist Ja-hyuk Yim, born in 1976, lives and works in Seoul.
Ja-hyuk Yim uses the wall as a sheet of a drawing book, wondering about the space we stand in and questioning what an image can do. Last year, she made ‘The tails of the walls’ for the Kumho Museum of Art. It was focused on structures and imagination. She treated the corner of each wall as the point where two planes ‘meet’ in which one plane continued behind the other. Just like drawings, her images are mostly light, quick, temporary, and spontaneous.
